Empowering Women Together

Why Women on A Mission of Albany?

(WOAM) was birthed on January 12, 2024, from the heart of our current President, Tracy L. Mallory. She noticed there was a need for parental guidance, outreach and mentorship, financial stability and independence that would help build the confidence and self-sufficiency of the family unit within our communities. As a single parent who once lived in the housing projects but worked her way to become a banking Branch Manager/Vice President. This enabled her to provide a better life for herself and her family, increasing her skills, knowledge, and independency. Tracy has a big heart to help others do the same and is willing to work with a few good women to accomplish her mission.

As a community service leader and advocate for the development of other women, she created this organization to promote change within our culture and home environments. Her volunteerism, leadership and influence within the Albany and surrounding areas have been proven both reputable and integral with other community organizations within the Southwest Georgia region. Her charge to lead purposeful mission-minded women who share the same passion to help others succeed in life, whether mentally, financially, and being healthy.

We currently offer monthly financial literacy workshops for our members, host an annual women’s health awareness walk, participate in monthly community service initiatives, and partner with other local organizations on educational and entertaining community events. We will also host our first ever gala in honor of the founding of the organization in January 2025. Stay tuned as we develop and announce more programs and services.
